The BVI is very casual, so dressing up isn't necessary. For dinners ashore, a sundress for women or a polo or tropical button-down shirt for men is perfect.

Pack several swimsuits or swim trunks, as you'll be in and out of the water often!

Evenings on the boat can feel cooler compared to the warm days, so bring a pullover or windbreaker and a long-sleeve cotton shirt for sun protection. A light rain jacket is also handy for brief rain showers.

Footwear isn't required on the boat. However if you prefer to wear sneakers or sandals, please ensure the soles are non-marking and that they havel a heel and protected toe (flip flops are not recommended)

Attire and Gear Specific to Passage Making Students

A light foul weather jacket and waterproof shell pants are recommended. Boots are not necessary, but a couple of pairs of cotton socks are advised. We also recommend bringing a headlamp with both white and red LED lights.

Safety Equipment

The yacht is equipped with all required safety equipment, e.g. PFDs, first aid kit, flares, vhf radio, etc.

Passage making students may wish to bring a Personal Handheld GPS, though this is optional.

Cell Phones and Internet

Cell phones generally work in most areas of the BVI, but roaming charges can be high without an international plan. For example, AT&T offers a $10/day plan. Free Wifi is typically available at resorts and anchorages.

Electronics

If you're bringing electronics, the BVI uses the same 110v as the US. The boat is equipped with an inverter to charge small devices like iPads, laptops, and phones.

Please note, the inverter cannot support high-powered devices like hair dryers!

Snorkel Gear

If you have your own snorkel gear, consider bringing it along. We recommend bringing your own mask to ensure a good fit, but snorkel kits can be provided if needed.

If we don't have what you need then nearby dive shops will be able to fill the gaps!

Please note: Linens and towels (wash cloth, hand towel, 2 bath towels, 1 beach towel pp) are provided.
